Alex Maslanka has been dancing since the age of 7 where he started off as a competitive studio and ballroom dancer in Windsor, Canada. In high school, Alex wanted to do more things with dancing so he moved out to Toronto to expand his training. Alex trained day to day in all styles including hip-hop, ballet and ballroom and he graduated high school with a regional arts program diploma. In 2013, he was given a title of “Tremaine National Dancer of the Year” in Orlando Florida. Since then, Alex is a part of a North American tour dance company based in L.A “Tremaine Performance Company” where he performs, assists and trains from professional dancers and choreographers from big screen movies and T.V shows such as “Step Up”, “So You Think You Can Dance” and many more. Some of his film and television experience include performing and acting on; Degrassi, Step up 5 and Tremaine dance Promo on “The Daily Buzz” , Emma- Lee’s music video “Figure It Out” and also many CTV and Family Channel shows which have yet to premiere in 2017. Competing as a ballroom dancer he has achieved many titles such as Ohio Star Ball Junior and Under 21 Latin Champion, Semi Final in International latin Championships, 16th In Dutch Open latin Championships, 10-dance Canadian representative in the World Championships, and finalist in many North American competitions. Currently he is pursuing his studies and training in dance at York University where he was accepted with the York University Talent Scholarship.
