Argentine Tango

The Tango, often called " The Argentine Tango", is Argentina's contribution to the world of Dance. Argentine Tango is danced in an embrace that can vary from very open, in which leader and follower connect at arms length, to very closed, in which the connection is chest-to-chest, or anywhere in between. Tango is essentially walking with a partner and the music. Musicality is the most important element of Tango. A good dancer is one who makes you see the music. Tango dancers generally keep their feet close to the floor as they walk, the ankles and knees brushing as one leg passes the other. Argentine Tango heavily relies on improvisation. Argentine Tango is danced counterclockwise around the outside of the dance floor.Many attempts have been made to trace the history of Tango, but nobody has ever found the exact roots of its origin.It is eclectic mix of cultures.Tango is associated with grey stones and muddy streets of Buenos Aires, red dress and hat, passion and sadness.Tango belongs to the night.
